At VibeCheck ("we", "us", or "our"), your digital privacy and peace of mind are our highest priorities. We designed VibeCheck so you can analyze messages, decode ambiguous subtext, and protect your loved ones without compromising your personal communications.

1. Zero Persistent Message Storage (Ephemeral Processing)

• No Chat Logging: When you submit text or scan a screenshot for tone or subtext analysis, the text and images are processed strictly in ephemeral memory by our AI models.
• Immediate Discard: Once your emotional tone scores (Toxicity, Warmth, Subtext Summary) and comeback options are generated and delivered to your device, the input content is immediately discarded from server memory.
• We Never Train on Your Private Texts: Your submitted messages are never added to AI training datasets or sold to third-party data brokers.

2. Information We Collect and Process

We operate on a strict data-minimization philosophy:

• Anonymous Device Identification: When you open VibeCheck, we generate a cryptographically random, anonymous ID to keep track of your complimentary analysis credits and rewarded ad balance. We do not require your real name, phone number, or social media login to use the app.
• Multimodal Screenshot OCR: When you use our Screenshot Scanner, our vision pipeline extracts conversation turns (ignoring device clock, battery icons, and system notifications) solely to perform the vibe check requested by you. Images are not retained on our servers after analysis.
• Rewarded Ad Telemetry: We integrate with Google AdMob to deliver opt-in rewarded video ads for earning free credits. Google AdMob may collect standard device identifiers, IP addresses, and anonymized interaction metrics as governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Information

We use information strictly to:

1. Provide accurate emotional subtext, tone calibration, and response generation.

2. Track credit balances and rewarded video ad completions.

3. Detect high-risk teen safety codes (e.g. distress slang, cyberbullying) to provide immediate supportive resources.

4. Protect against abuse and ensure server stability.

4. Children and Teen Privacy (COPPA & Family Guidance)

• VibeCheck includes a dedicated Parent Mode designed to bridge the generational communication gap and explain youth slang.
• We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13 without verified parental consent.
• All slang scanning and safety evaluations prioritize teen safety and well-being.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

We partner only with industry-leading cloud and infrastructure providers who adhere to strict data security standards:

• Cloud Hosting: Hosted in private encrypted cloud containers.
• AdMob (Google): For serving privacy-compliant rewarded video advertisements.
• AI Processing Engines: High-security enterprise endpoints operating with zero-data-retention agreements for API calls.

6. Your Rights & Data Controls

• Reset Your Anonymous ID: You can clear app storage on your device at any time to generate a completely new anonymous profile.
• Right of Erasure: Because we do not store chat logs or personal profiles linked to your identity, there is no historical archive of your messages retained on our servers.
